At the suggestion of some of our members, and especially for those who want to make some sort of response to all the political shenanigans in our nation and various marches etc, it has been agreed that the church should be open on Friday morning for a time of prayer time starting at 12pm (we understand most marches are between 12pm and 2pm so our prayer time will be in concert with those actions).
There is a “little” debate, charged by the variety of relationships we have with Jesus, as to whether we should pray and do nothing else, or pray and march, or just march. Please do not make rules for each other as ALL of these are right and fitting before God, and the Scriptures expressly ask us not to make rules for one another. In Paul’s language and in relation to food being offered to idols (Romans 14) – some eat because they have faith in Christ and believe He has conquered all the demons, and some, out of faith in Christ, refuse to eat least they serve a demon by so eating. IN CHRIST’S OWN WORDS: “Will the Son of Man find faith, when He returns to earth?” (Luke 18:8).
The Church will be open. You are welcome to come along and join those who will be there.
There will be a list available of the new cabinet. You are welcome to pray and sing, or ask for something to be sung as you feel led, and to take as long as you wish in your prayers. And you are welcome to leave when you feel you have done all you want to do.
FEEL FREE TO COMMUNICATE THIS AS WIDELY AS YOU CAN AND WITH WHOMEVER YOU WISH, NOT JUST BPC MEMBERS.
